Leech Lake Cannabis Co. Breaks Ground on Corporate Headquarters Facility in Cass Lake
On Monday, May 18, community members, partners, and supporters gathered in Cass Lake to celebrate a major milestone for Leech Lake Cannabis Co. with the official groundbreaking ceremony for the company’s new indoor cultivation and corporate headquarters facility.
Located at 611 Elm Avenue behind Sweetest Grass Dispensary, the new development represents the next phase of growth for the tribally owned cannabis company and its expanding presence within Minnesota’s emerging cannabis industry.
The planned facility will include state-of-the-art indoor cultivation rooms, cannabis processing and packaging operations, distribution capabilities, and administrative offices designed to support the continued growth of Leech Lake Cannabis Co. Once completed, the building is expected to create new employment opportunities while strengthening the company’s ability to serve customers and retail partners throughout the region.
Leadership at the event spoke about the importance of investing in the local economy, creating long-term career opportunities, and building a sustainable cannabis operation rooted in the values of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
Construction is now underway, with the facility currently targeted to open in December 2026.
The groundbreaking ceremony marked not only the beginning of a new building project, but also another exciting step forward for the future of Leech Lake Cannabis Co. and the growing cannabis industry in northern Minnesota.
